A great analogy to use for this explosive novel is like a very brilliant architect. The author weaves an exciting and dangerous plot with unique dynamic characters, nations of an ancient planet that are so different in appearance and culture, it's confines go beyond our realm of the ultimate good verses evil. I found myself hoping some survived the titanic struggle and despising the evil forces. First and foremost would be Myrhia, the High Queen, whom has no regard or empathy for human life and values just conquest and inflicting as much destruction as possible. An intriguing parallel to our own world where humanity has an inherent need to conquer. To prevent her from totally annihilating the planet and thus the ability to transcend time and space to other planets including earth is Islena and the three Cornerstone Nations. Islena Doraux whom has been torn away from earth to fulfill her destiny, the two will have to clash with thunderous determination over the planets destiny.

Islena and a small group from the Cornerstone Nations travel through the terrifying "Land of Shades", across vast forests and down rivers in an almost impossible quest to find Artumas the exiled King to try to find the other two icons to defeat the evil High Queen. Faced with incredible odds, sorcery made creators of all kinds will they even make it alive? Will the chosen messiah finally accept her role in the ancient world? Will she defeat the heartless High Queen or become the most powerful evil entity in the universe? Every page turned I wondered what would befall the small expedition force next. A high quality fantasy novel I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading that genre.
