N. S. Charles
on July 08, 2012 :
This tale's setup is nice but it's plagued by a bit of stiff action during the fighting in the beginning. The second scene of violence flows better with better diction and word choice that segues nicely into D/s sex.
While the sex is great, the alpha's dominant side seems to come out of left field. Perhaps he isn't characterized enough for this not to be a bit of a shock, but while dominant in the scene there was no pretext for him to be so. He hasn't previously been stated to be an alpha, just a lone, lonely wolf. Also puzzling is Jane's sudden change from a near feral, unappreciative woman to being on the no-questions-asked receiving end even if she's going through a heat cycle.
The unconnected dots here are puzzling, but don't take away from the sexual writing once you're into it.
