Snapshots Of A Past

Rated 5.00/5 based on 1 reviews
A turning page, a changing face, a life erased. Two women explore a photograph album as dementia clouds the memories of one. As they wrestle with this terrible turn of fate and face the biggest challenge of all, memories are brought to the fore of happier places, snapshots in time which still hold the imprint of how life once was, their love pinned to each page. Review by: Lulu Jane on March 24, 2013 :
I wanted to write about my experience of reading this book because, although it is perhaps the saddest story I have ever read, the pain is so tangible it crawls off the page, it is also one of the most passionate stories about love I have ever come across. A story of ‘true love’, a love so consuming that most of us only ever dream of. The book took me on an incredible emotional journey where I felt I identified with the two women's lives and shared in both their joy and their pain and I believed every heartfelt word. And although it left me feeling bereft it also left me feeling strangely enriched, as if I had been given a rare insight into a world which, despite the harsh cruelty of fate, made sense of life.
