Short description

One Army Wife's Tale is a no-holds-barred look into the life of one of our nation's heroes, as seen through the eyes of the wife he left behind when he deployed to Iraq. Told through the daily excerpts of the highly popular blog that gave birth to the memoir, Jenn takes you through the highs and lows of Army life; from day one of her husband's deployment to the tragic twist no one saw coming.

Extended description

"I didn't make a conscious choice to fall in love with and marry a soldier. I fell in love with a man who happens to be a soldier. It wasn't about the uniform (which he looks incredibly sexy in), or the money (as anyone who actually lives off a military income will tell you), or anything else. It was about me finding the man that I'm meant to spend my life with, and not wanting to pass up our chance together simply because of bad timing. When he joined the Army, he didn't know we were going to find each other again and fall in love. He had no idea he was going to be torn between his duty to the Army and his love for me."

When Jenn reconnected with her high school sweetheart over a decade after they'd first dated, she never fathomed that she would wind up the wife of a deployed soldier in less than a year's time. But that's exactly what happened. Just two months after their fairytale wedding, which came on the heels of a whirlwind romance, Jenn's husband, Dax, was sent to Iraq for .. (Read more)

I loved the book! It really showed how trying it is to live as a military family. It's intense, but also shows bits of humor. After reading her account I have a whole new respect for military families. I highly recommend this book.

I was lucky enough to have followed many of Jenn's blogs from the day that Dax left. From her very first post, I realized what a great writer she is. She has this way of writing that makes you feel like she is right there with you telling her story in person. The emotion just jumps right off the page. At first, I had a hard time understanding the complexity of her situation. I had no clue what it was like to be part of a military family. But Jenn found the perfect way to draw in her readers, creating her own little family of followers, and show them what it's truly like to me an Army Wife. This was a great book to read and I would highly recommend it. Keep writing Jenn!

When i found out an old friend of mine was writing a book I knew it would be amazing, and I knew this because it was written by a very talented woman! I'm not gonna lie, I'm definitily more of a t.v. watcher then a reader. I spend most nights catching up on reality t.v., but when One Army Wifes tale became available for purchase I immidiately bought it and began reading. This book became my new "reality t.v." every night until I couldn't stay awake any more. There were so many times I wanted to hit the "LIKE" button as I indulged myself into this story of an army wifes second to second, minute for minute, hour by hour, and day to day struggle to lead a productive life even tho her husband was so far away and was in danger every day of his life. I will never know what it is like to be an "Army Wife", but because of this book Im starting to understand that it takes a strong woman to fill those shoes. It was perfectly written, and as amazing as I knew it would be! Loved, loved, loved it!!!!
