What I liked: What can I say? I love a good horror novel. I would definitely classify "Dear Diary" as that. I really enjoyed the dark story line and the characters were very likable. The story is a diary written by a model who wants to stay "forever young" and decides to try Countess Elizabeth Bathory's method of a blood treatment. It starts out purely innocent with her best friend getting a bloody nose. It then escalates to harvesting blood from "donors". I really liked the love story between the narrator and her lover/accomplice. At times her accomplice seemed so naive and other times she was the brains and was planning out every detail. I think the takeaway message is any one of us can be capable of horrible things if circumstances line up just right.
What I didn't like: I would have liked to know more about the Detective's investigation but I guess since this was a diary, we would only get one point of view. Also, I thought it was kind of strange to have chapter names in a diary and no dates.
