Extended description

The Long Way Home is an exciting blend of fact and fiction, that brings glimpses of life in a Scythian village, of Mediterranean market places, of the tin mines in Britain and of Native villages in North America, as they were 4,000 years ago. Rebellion leads a young Scythian boy to abandon his village and run away to a trading center. Ignoring her father's warnings to remain in camp results in a young Native girl being taken into captivity.
Fate brings them together in a native village. They plot their escape but have no clear idea of how to get home again. Their journey becomes an epic of survival and discovery, of invention and intrigue in the face of unimaged dangers.

The book is based on archaeological and historical research and is suitable for all young adult readers.
