Well drawn characters make this a pleasant read. Bobby Lee is a nice place to start, and characters like Bulldog and Casper make me want to read this more than once. Take a chance on this book. You won't be disappointed.

Considering that Shannon was a new author when this was published, and not nearly as accomplished as he is now, this is actually a very readable book. It shows his style and penchant for crime and horror, which are the hallmarks of Shannon's later works.

A good "gateway" work into Shannon's world, and for the price, it can't be beat.
