I really like this book. I don't read much fantasy (I have a lot of it, but it's hard for me to get into it), but Gamearth sucked me in. It took a few chapters, but once I was into the story I couldn't put it down.

The characters are well-defined and are believable, the situations create a sense of genuine dread, and the story pulls you along with it. I can't wait to start the second book.

At the start, I had a hard time getting involved enough to care about one set of characters, the "Outsiders". Most of the details were invested with the "Game" characters. However, as I pushed through the story became a thrill ride. A boat load of adventure is offered here. Occasionally, the story lacks details on some points, but not enough to thumb my nose at. It's a fun twist viewing the influence two worlds have on each other. Especially when one of those worlds supposedly isn't real. I found a little of everything I enjoy reading within this tale.
