End of the Line is reminiscent of Mickey Spillane meets Garrison Keillor’s Guy Noir, but only more gruesome and R-rated. It is an engaging tale that takes place in my hometown, St. Paul, MN. With cleverly written scenes and characters, the humor will make you smile and occasionally, chuckle. And in some cases, cringe. In one scene, the olfactory description literally nauseated me. The credit belongs to author, Mike Faricy, a talented writer with an intriguing background which lends itself well to telling this entertaining yarn. “Loose ends” is a recurring theme throughout the book, but by the end, there are none.
