Tower of Parlen Min sounded like a book full of fantasy, excitement and mystery but there is a lot more than what the synopsis hints.
Although the beginning was sort of slow for me and I struggled to keep my attention on the story, I realized later in the book that it was needed to set the background and bases of Ves' world. Once he gets to the Tower of Parlen Min, the pace is faster and full of action and adventure that doesn't stop until the very end of the book.
There are several things going on that keep the characters and the reader busy. First, there's the visit to the Tower of Parlen Min and the Sword Challenge worth 12 million dollars set up by Jacobious Trent. This is one of the parts of the book that I enjoyed the most. The challenges were very creative and intense, and it was a lot of fun reading them.
Then there's the mystery of a serial killer that's been lurking around town. This is a real puzzle and there are hints here and there that will only make sense when the truth is discovered.
And finally, there's a secret surrounding Ves himself that I won't say much about because I don't want to ruin the surprise.
The fantasy and magic elements of the story were my favorite part and I think they really set the book apart form others. They were all highly imaginative, especially the creatures. There are a lot of myths and stories about them that make for a really interesting and different kind of story.
All in all, Tower of Parlen Min is a very entertaining and unique story. It is full of adventure, action, magic and mystery. I definitely look forward to reading more of Ves' adventures in future books.

I thought that Tower of Parlen Min sounded like a really exciting and awesome book full of puzzles and tasks that the main character Ves would have to go through throughout the book. While it did have that element to it, there was also a whole lot more to the story.
I really enjoyed Tower of Parlen Min. I’ll admit that at first I thought things were a bit boring and slow going but that was only because the characters and the background for the story had to get set up. Once the story got deeper into things however, I was very hooked.
Where to start? There are so many things going on. First up there’s the challenges set up by Jacobius Trent and the 12 million dollar prize awarded to the winner. I thought that the challenges were so intense. I would have failed straight away most likely. It was really fun reading about the challenges and they were so creative and so different.
Then there was the whole mystery of what was happening to Ves and the history of the house and its inhabitants. I am a sucker for mysteries of any kind so of course I was going to keep reading to find out about all of these things.
The fantasy element was there as well and I loved it. The magic was really magical and it was quite different to a lot of the magic you see in books these days. Not to mention the creatures. Some of them were rather different and it just made for a really interesting story.
I think one of the things that I didn’t like so much about the book was the characters. For most of the book a lot of the characters annoyed me. However, towards the end I started seeing the majority of them in a different light. Ves had his moments and he was a very interesting character.
One thing I have to say about Tower of Parlen Min above all is that it is highly imaginative and very unique. It was a lot of fun and something different to the books I’d normally read.
If you’re looking for something really fun and highly imaginative then I definitely suggest reading Tower of Parlen Min. There is so much to it that I can’t help but feel I’d like to reread it again. I also look forward to reading more of Ves’ adventures in future books.

Right from the start Tower of Parlen Min had me curious. The main character, Ves, has a condition where he loses his memory every day. I was anxious to find out why, especially once subtle clues were dropped...but as to what those clues were, you'll have to read the story to find out for yourself.

This book was packed full of action, and while reading, it constantly keeps you on your toes. Right when you think that the action has stopped, something happens again and the action starts all over again. It's definitely the type of story to keep you entertained. :)

There were a lot of characters, some of them were hard to keep track of to be honest because they weren't really in the story very often, but the ones that you do get to know through Ves, were pretty interesting. Now onto Ves. He goes through tonnes in Tower of Parlen Min, and he defintiely grows as a character. He's kind of a crazy kid to be honest..brave, but crazy. :P

Another interesting thing in Tower of Parlen Min was the folklore. There were ones that I recognized, like the mention of Chonus, Helios, Selene, and other Greek gods, goddesses and Titans, and then there were ones that were completely new to me. They were incredibly inventive. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure if all of the folklore or even the place names were supposed to be ones that were real to us, or if they were just modeled after real life. There were places like the continent Bradil and Aegypt, which I assumed were plays on Brazil and Egypt, but I wasn't sure. It was kind of interesting to think that they might be related if we lived in a place that had the same impossible things that were in Ves's world.

Overall I thought that Tower of Parlen Min was a good story, and its ending will definitely leave the reader wanting more...and wanting to know what happens next!

While I usually enjoy fantasy novels I found this one to be confusing and hard to follow.A few things that the book has going for it are the sword fights and a fair amount of suspense and horror to keep fans of those genres happy as well as well developed characters.
