Rick Burns had given up on personal love fifteen long years ago. Now he is a burned-out high school teacher planning to remove himself from his profession, that is, until two students are tragically killed by a fellow classmate. No one knows why it happened, but Rick feels responsible. Guilt and a search for redemption take him from the comfort of his Colorado home to the back woods of Mississippi where he confronts a white supremacist organization bent on hatred and terror. Rick eventually becomes involved in bitter-sweet revenge.

Rick is not alone in his mission, but he does not appreciate the independent woman who inserts herself into his life, joining him on this dangerous odyssey. Rick, who has built up a personal fence against emotions, now finds himself gradually, grudgingly falling in love all over again.

"Good Fences" addresses man’s most inhumane side while nurturing the growing bond between two people thrown together by tragedy.
