Short description

Kenna always felt that she and her family were different, but she had no idea just how different until the night she witnesses something extraordinary happening in her own back yard. Flung into a world where vampires, werewolves, witches, and demons lurk in the shadows, she must learn where her place is, both in the world of light, and in the world of shadows.

Extended description

Kenna has always felt that her family was different, with the constant moving and the oddly hippie-like views on religion, philosophy, and the world in general. It isn't until they move next to a graveyard and she witnesses something wholly extraordinary that she finds out that her family is different in ways she couldn't have possibly imagined.

She finds herself thrown into the world of shadows, where vampires casually roam the daylight, werewolves teach high school science, and demons are summoned to wreak havoc on their victims.

With the help of a half-vampire, a being whose sole purpose is to rid the world of evil, she discovers she is more than just the average high school student and must learn to cope with her newfound role in this secret world, where danger and tragedy can strike her or her family at any moment.

I don't usually write reviews but I have to give praise & thanks for such an amazing story. I was drawn into this mysterious shadow world from the first chapter & really did not want to leave when I reached the end. The flow of the story was strong, the right amount of detail given to scenes, people & backgrounds without feeling it was too little or too much, and the character development & growth seemed natural. I'm eager for the next book & can't wait to see the next level you take your readers to. As another reviewer mentioned, I hope to see interactions from Dance into the Dark, even if they are cameos that help to move the plot forward. Thank you for a great read!

This was a very, very enjoyable read. Your character really came alive. Excellent story and excellent plotting. Looking forward to January. Count on me buying the new book, but I would like to see some interaction with the characters from Dance into the Dark.
