Extended description

THE GLASS CEILING is a story of the impenetrable barrier women and other minorities face in social and business life. Rhonda is a highly qualified electronics engineer working for a large international company. There is a vacancy within the company for a manager of the research department, a job that Rhonda is well qualified for and one that she badly wants. She is informed that the company has advertised the post widely but she hasn't even been considered for the appointment, that makes her angry.
The company are moving the assembly plant to Asia where it is cheaper to manufacture. The research department where she has applied for the job as research manager will stay in Australia, and a new male manager will be appointed, she hasn't even been considered for the post. Then she gets the final insult, she is discharged as redundant.
