“So what exactly do you propose?”

I set my jaw. I needed to be believable, but it was hard to force the words out. “I want you to turn me. I want to be a member of your pack.”

He arched his eyebrows, and relief surged through me as I realized he was intrigued by the idea. He turned toward me with a lascivious smile, looking me up and down with lust in his eyes. Feeling my stomach do flip-flops, I forced myself to return his gaze brazenly, moving my mouth into what I hoped passed for a seductive smile. Would I really go through with this? Would I really have sex with the monster who killed my father, who killed Ethan's girlfriend?

“This works out best for all of us,” I told him. “Ethan and I can join your pack together.” I turned back again to look at Ethan, trying to silently communicate my plan with him. He had a pained look in his eyes, but I had the impression he understood. If I could get Donovan to let his guard down, I could get my hands on my gun again and put him down for good.
