Giving Up Parker - 6 months later

Losing a loved one eviscerates one and marks a significant passage of time. Grieving has a prescribed progression and mine is moving normally, although I don't want it to. I want someone to call me and ask me if I can take Parker back, or to hear a scratching on the front door screen and open it to find him bedgraggled but alive and smiling. Acceptance is still in the future.
