About Megan Derr

Megan grew up a military brat and traveled extensively with her family. She is now firmly settled in Ohio, with two roommates and their five cats. She has always been book obsessed, and writing obsessed since she first gave it a whirl in college. Romance and fantasy are her primary obsessions, but she’s game to write just about anything and enjoys a challenge. She is a sucker for stories of enemies becoming lovers. When not writing, Megan is drinking too much coffee, reading still more books, and harassing family and friends, or otherwise doing whatever possible to avoid editing.

This has become one of my favorites. It's a pick up and read and then read it again because I enjoyed it that much. Wish it was longer or more with these characters was offered.

I would've loved an epic-length version of this story, but even as short as it is now, it's a thoroughly enjoyable read.

This M/M story would make a great outline for a fantasy novel.
As it is it is not bad at all and yet one really feels the need for more fleshing out, for more characterization, for the two leads to fall in love less quickly.
It is also left unexplained how Allen's brothers were never taken to task by their parents.

Writing is professional but there are several annoying typos.

At the end of the story, the author writes that she is often accused of fluff and nonsense. If so, it's the best sort. Very enjoyable, well-written story.
