For many years, Flora Reigada and husband, Dan, were a writer/photographer team for the Florida Today newspaper.
“We had the privilege of visiting interesting places and meeting interesting people,” Flora said. “One was the local historian who discovered her passion for Florida’s history in a cemetery. We also explored the historic courthouse where a secret stairway led to a long-forgotten jail.”
In addition to being an award winning novelist, Flora describes herself as a broom and mop operator extraordinaire. When she is not writing, Flora enjoys reading, cooking, photography and swimming.
The New York native retains strong ties to the Big Apple and visits as often as she can.
She and Dan are the proud parents of three and proud grandparents of two.

This book was a page turner. I felt like I was actually in New York during the Depression and World War II. My favorite character was the crazy sailor who everyone thought was dead, but he kept coming back like a ghost to harass his girlfriend. The book is a little long, but the plot kept me reading. This one could be a movie.
