This was a wonderful book. It is full of interesting twists and turns. I especially love the idea of circle magic and mixed blood lines. It was not a fast read, but it was not hard to read. I cannot wait to try to read the other books because I would like to know what happens!

Quoted from the book: Thorns of misery snagged her soul, piercing deep until she bled buried memories, cried tears of forgotten sorrow.
I was contacted by the author for an honest review. His story is a masterpiece in the works for us readers as he allows us to see thru his character’s eyes. His writing style is intense and well written. He will definitely be a new author I will stalk and follow thru his great works.
This story is about a young girl who is held with others in a cell that holds possible witches that can give power back to others that have had theirs taken away. Upon escaping, Bronwyn meets up with others that have gifts as she does and her mission is to escape and finally be free from the torture she has endured by others. She forms a sisterhood with others and has people she can truly call her family after everything she has been thru. Is war really the answer to all the questions she seeks? The story was left open for a sequel which I will be eagerly awaiting for. This is fantastic work Mr. Southwall. Thank you so much for allowing me to read your work as it is very impressive.

My daughter started reading this one but found it a little difficult. So instead of wasting the story I picked it up. So glad I did. First thing I have to say is surprised a guy wrote this, not saying anything wrong, just surprising. All the witches were so much fun, some had attitudes, some were funny, but all had heart. Kind of a relief from all the romance focused youngadult fantasy. Heads up though it is a kinda advanced read, not hard but your 12-15 year olds might need some help with some of the wording. If that doesn't scare you then read it! I loved it and will recommend it.

This is not normally the type of book I read, I was linked it from a friend on FB. BUT this story was very cool and different. Some of the writing almost seemed like the story was a poem but it sounded really good. There is no romance in this book but Bronwyn's friendships are so worth it. Each character is unique and well done. My favorite is the youngest one, creepy, funny, and cute.
If you like weird but really well written stories this is for you! Really cool magic, animals, and tons of creepy parts. If you are even a little bit curious I say try it!
