All Trisha wants to do is create something meaningful. Since she's living in Athens, Georgia, she finds four other women and The Forty Watt Flowers are formed. From the jock atmosphere of the garage where they rehearse to the beer-soaked bars where they gig, five young women struggle to find sanity in the mess of notes they try to play and the hiccups of their lives. About C.M. Subasic

The snooty, listy, writerly version
Originally a playwright, I've has had 7 published plays produced, served as caucus chair for the Playwrights Guild of Canada and many arts organizations across the country. I've served as a judge on international writing competitions and assessed manuscripts for theaters in the US and Canada. I was managing editor for the book Taking the Stage: Selections from plays by Canadian women, which won the "most saleable dramatic publication of the year" award from Canadian Booksellers' Association and has been re-printed twice.

The books, plays and screenplays I most likes to read are those still in their infancy. I write about writing on my blog Writer's Assembly and assess manuscripts for other writers.

Here I am for real
Sometimes I feel insecure and sometimes I'm confident. But one thing I know: being alive rocks. There are so many things to love, like misty mornings riding my bike, listening to music that seems touched by god, sitting down to a 7-course meal with friends, sitting down to write and looking wistfully around as I try to wrestle with an idea, seeing an idea take shape and develop its own life. All of this is magic. To do is to be and to be is to do. Do it singing and life is perfect.

I currently reside in my birthplace, Toronto, with three grey cats and a drawer full of lint brushes.

I really enjoyed the book, with the twists and turns of the relationships between the characters.
