About Laura Lovecraft

Like her famous namesake, Laura was born, raised and still resides in historic Providence, Rhode Island. This Lovecraft's writing however, brings thrills of a completely different kind! As her photo states, erotica’s bad girl is not for the faint of heart. Although she has penned some sexy fun in the categories of group sex and general erotica, Laura has made her bones in the realms of hardcore BDSM and truly Taboo tales. Currently Laura is best known for two dark and sexy series. Laura’s original masterpiece is the infamous (and banned on several sites) BDSM/Incest crossover Broken. This unique series has set the standard for not only taboo sex, but dark romance as well. The current series is Tales of the Circle featuring a group of wealthy, powerful and sexually dominant men and women who rule the boardroom as well as the bedroom. The Circle has moments of both sweet romance as well as some of the roughest sex scenes this side of safe, sane and consensual. Her latest edition to the Circle Mythos Dark Genesis also contains aspects of erotic horror. These works and many more can be found on Smashwords!

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Neko Parks' review on this book. I loved this further look into the life of Mark after having read Broken, Lovecraft's other epic masterpiece.

The Circle is full of intriguing characters, crazy hot sex, and power plays you wouldn't believe even if you saw them with your own eyes. Everyone is brilliant in this, and I loved getting to know the characters of Mark's secret world, after having it alluded to in Broken.

We meet Justine, the Mistress of the Circle, and discover the meaning of Hell Hath No Fury like a woman scorned, not to mention how insane men can make some women ;)
Catching a glimpse into the life of Alex was enjoyable because of the brief introduction we get to him in Broken, and he’s not exactly likeable at that point. But in this story we see the dedication he has to his brothers and sisters, and his fierce fighting spirit come to the front in more of Lovecraft’s incredible fight scenes – I’ve never seen someone who can write fight scenes as well as they write erotica – both take my breath away!

If you're into vanilla erotica, this isn't likely to be for you, but the compelling story more than makes up for the graphic and sometimes violent sex. I couldn't put it down, like everything of LL Craft's, this is an incredible piece of writing and I can't wait to see the next instalment come out!

L. L. Craft's Circle is comprised of a group of dominant personalities that would make most of us shudder in the boardroom or the bedroom. From the safety of our eReaders, we experience the BDSM "game" at a level not found in other popular novels. Craft clearly knows this lifestyle intimately.

While each character is dominant in all aspects of life, admittance into the Circle is only allowed after a new member is "broken" by an existing member. We see one such initiation in this book, allowing us to view the submissive side of this character and to understand that this submissiveness is a necessary element in the power hierarchy of the entire group.

The dialogue between the various characters is very real and endearing as well, especially as we see the difference between the Circle personas and the characters' "real life" personalities.

Craft's sense of humor comes through clearly in each character. In spite of the often serious subject matter, there are several scenes that are downright funny. There were two in particular that I had to reread, just because the situations and dialogue were so enjoyable.

It is the ensemble of multi-dimensional characters, even more than the graphic sex, that makes this an excellent read. Craft lulls us into what appears to be a spicy, yet predictable, romance. Don't be fooled. This novel will have you pondering the characters long after you read the last page and looking for the next Circle installment.

Intriguing BDSM Novel of Sexual Politics

TALES OF THE CIRCLE: BOOK ONE is a brilliantly written book concerning the Byzantine world of sexual politics in an exclusive BDSM club. Craft has penned an erotic novel full of compellingly intelligent characters and erotically charged scenes that do not romanticize the hardcore elements of the BDSM life style. This book is not your sugar-coated, many shades- of- whatever type of BSDM erotica, but a novel that depicts the BSDM world with truth and emotional complexity. In some respects, this novel is reminiscent of Laura Antoniou's series THE MARKETPLACE.

While the characters of Justine, Victoria, and Alex are written with intelligence and verve, it is the beautiful but emotionally damaged Mark Phillips that is the stand out character and the main reason to read this novel. In character of Phillips, Craft has created a memorable anti-hero of such beauty and heartbreaking complexity. Phillips's sexual energy cannot be contained but is a force of nature.

Clearly, the author does not intend for Phillips to be a romance novel style hero. Not to give away any of the plot points in this review, but Craft has the ingenuity and integrity not to sanitize Mark Phillips's past and character. Craft portrays Phillips as a dangerous bad boy with all the beauty of a fallen angel and the mercurial nature of a rising thunderstorm--and curiously at his most compelling and heartbreaking in the jagged points of his scarred psyche.

I highly recommend Tales of the Circle: Book One to any reader that enjoys deliciously edgy and intelligently written erotica.

A Hardcore soap opera! If I had to pick one word for this book, it would be unique. I’ve never read an erotic work of this length that had me as eager to read the story as the sex. The characters are well developed even though at the start they seemed like stuck up jerks I didn’t think I’d like, the author does a great job of getting me to identify with and feel for them. There are several story lines throughout the book and The Circle itself is an incredible concept that has endless possibilities and the politics of it were complex and entertaining. As for the sex? If your favorite flavor is vanilla, skip this book! Even though there are a couple of romantic scenes a lot of the sex here falls under “Holy %$%&^!”, Some of the roughest I’ve read, but all within the rules of BDSM, the author knows their “game” as it is referred to in the book. Last, but not least, I won’t give a spoiler, but the ending is a real shocker! Five stars and will definitely be checking out the rest of the series!

I can't believe I'm the first one to review this book...it was very good. Well worth the money.I love the relationship between Justine and Lovecraft and the other members of the circle. I got a better understanding of the members and the rules and initiation into the group. The sex scenes are to die for, they will have you dripping...I mean drooling...Ahh screw it I was doing both. I'm hook to the circle and will be back for more.
