Extended description

Tyne and Wear are suffering from a severe lack of police officers and so Inspector David Charles and Sergeant Malcolm McKarn are sent up there from London to investigate the death of a young woman whose body has recently been found dumped in a little used country lane.
And David is not best pleased when his investigation is hampered by people who should be doing everything they can to help.
But although their welcome to the area is thankfully a lot warmer than the weather, David is not a happy bunny. The case is falling apart and he is desperate to get back down south. But then something occurs to change his mind and it's nothing to do with the case.

A serious story with more than a hint of natural humour as well as a few twists throughout. Very enjoyable read.
