I generally refer to myself is some way as an educated river rat. Being from Kansas, I have the right forevermore to use the slang ain't.
A former nurse, I changed my career path and gained a Bachelor's degree in business administration. My intention was always to become a more professional writer. I've written creatively since sixth grade when one of my poems was noticed by my teacher as being exceptionally good to the point to making a point of it to my mother. My mother and father have encouraged me to continue working with my writing in some way.
Besides writing poetry and little stories for my kids, over the years I have been writing in my nursing career by assignment to discharge summaries in a nursing home, those can be long and involved. I loved the experience to learn about the patients even though most of the discharge summaries were due to death. I never have had a problem with death and dying. Being with a dying patient is a gift to them and in some way to myself.
While I worked toward my Bachelor's Degree, I took as many writing courses as well. I also took art courses and appreciation courses for both art and literature. If you ever question the importance of these courses in any path of life, I can tell you, they can become invaluable. Imagine being in business, you are working with a professor in the Fine Arts field and you can at least follow what he likes to talk about with some knowledge.
Sorry, I got preachy. I love to write fiction, poetry, and research articles. My book THE SEARCH: LUNIS FLOWER OF HIDDEN is a Christian fantasy based on a woman who is trapped in a town called Hidden. She must decide to trust or not trust Shepherd to guide her through a treacherous journey to get out of Hidden and find her way home. The book is based loosely on Psalm 23.
I've written a lot of articles and short stories form Write Spot an eMagazine, and for Helium.com a large eMagazine that covers topics of all types.
My husband and I live in an Wymore, NE. We've raised three children who have blessed us with 9 grandchildren.
I hope to make a place for myself here at Smashwords and to know more of the other authors here. I already read many of David Kubicek's works and love them as well as JR MacClane.
I am looking forward to learning a lot of other names here.
