Short description

How far would you go to save your child's life? After a devastating freak accident, Jason and Christine Landry are forced to face that very question when they hear the worst news any parent can get; "Your twenty-year-old daughter has two weeks to live!" Their options are zero. Still reeling, Jason refuses to accept that and plunges his family into a desperate campaign to save their little girl.

Extended description

Would you willingly volunteer to have a surgeon crack open your sternum and remove your heart so it might be used to save someone else's life? Suppose you are relatively young and healthy with a great future. Could a decision like that ever be considered rational? Would it even be sane? A Song for Daddy will examine those very issues and test the readers' inner resolve...their will to do what's right. It will make them question their compassion, their commitment, even their morality, as they try to place themselves in the shoes of the characters within its pages. The pivotal character is a young woman, Valerie Landry. She is smart, resourceful, driven, and aggressive toward her goals, yet introverted. At the beginning of the story she is at a crucial point in her development of becoming an opera singer and realizes she has fallen short for the first time ever. She is confused, stunned, and even frightened, but determined to persevere on her own, not truly knowing how to ask for help... (Read more)

What a great story! It was sweet, sensitive and compelling. Once i started reading it I couldn't put it down. It was short but deep and and takes the reader through the full gamut of human emotions. I identified with the daughter, the mother, even the father as the scenes unfolded. It is a quick, easy read that makes you stay in it til the end....even through the tears. I am looking forward to more tales from my dear friend, G.L.

This is a great story. It will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I recommend this story for men, women or older children. It will touch anyone who has sacrificed for someone else or had someone sacrifice for them. I would not recommend reading this book in public unless you don’t mind being tearful in public places, this story will tear your heart out.

Immensely moving story about paternal love and its extent. It definitely makes you think about what you would do or how you would react if you were in the position of the mother, father, daughter or son? Definitely worth the read!

This book is wonderfully well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The tragedy the family goes through is heart wrenching and will cause you to ponder the sacrifices you would take for your own child. A Song for Daddy is a book that will stay with you for many days!
