Very enjoyable tale of the sad undead; Zombie fiction is usually all so cliched nowadays and boringly similar, so I like any story that looks at things from a different angle [a bit like my own story "Eye Check"; shameless plug].
Here we see what would happen if a young boy came by his own 'pet' zombie, and what results is very easy to believe.
Endearing, gory and at times a little funny, this is a great little read, very well written and creates a pathos for the undead.
One small criticism [but still five worthwhile stars] is that the story seemed to be leading up to a 'twist' ending, which never quite came. A small point in a highly recommended story.

This would make a great bedtime story for young children who complain constantly about not having the newest video game, or over endorsed glittery toy. You could tell them that for there up and coming birthday you'll get them something a bit out of the ordinary. Then read them this..Then again, perhaps not! (ha ha)
Good little story though.

Great story told in a darkly humorous style. It concerns a ten-year-old boy and a zombie, but expertly challenges the reader's preconceptions as to what is good and what is bad. I was particularly amused at the references to the tuna cassarole, and the ending, though gruesome, was deeply satisfying!

This is a truly great little story, one that moves at an almost gentle pace - despite the unusual subject matter. It's conclusion is a very satisfying one indeed.
I look forward to reading this again sometime, something i rarely do.

Very imaginative. This is a R. L. Stine-esque kind of story. Lovely grammar too. Beautifully explained. And a quick, quick read. It started as a reversed role sort of way - man (in this case 'boy') terrorising zombie and he got/deserved what was coming. Like Stephen King would say "He got his medicine". Was impressed. Looking forward to more from this author.
(It could've been 5 stars from me but I only give 5 to novels and novellas. But consider this work a 5er). Keep up the good work!

The plot is cool. As I read through the story, it was reading rather slowly. Reading and reading - once I was at the last two pages of the story, my happiness picked up for the zombie. I like the story.
