Short description

Football Metaphysics for Enlightened Degenerates is not just a preview of the 2012 NFL season in original Armchair Linebacker fashion, but also a psychic scraping at each NFL team, breaking them all down into organic compounds. You will laugh deep laughs, you will learn deep truths, and you will understand football at a higher level than before. I promise you all of that.

Extended description

Football Metaphysics for Enlightened Degenerates - Armchair Linebacker Preview 2012 by Raven Mack (aka Raven McMillian aka 1000 Feathers) is on the surface a hilarious gonzo breakdown of each of the 32 NFL teams into multiple categories, with analysis and predictions like you'd expect. But the Armchair Linebacker style is much more than that, because scattered and buried in the obvious traditional NFL talk are metaphysical jewels of wisdom and nonsense gibberish that is actually speaking in the strange tongue of the modern Spirit Warrior, meant to confuse the devils who would make a commodity of our every breath. Football is a game fought on a strange caveman plane of existence, but with the benefits of our modern psychologies - some developed, some stifled. Not finished reading but this work carries on the fine tradition of Armchair Linebacker with a tremendous amount of insight and is a must read if you are a semi literate football fan. I recommend this highly

Ok, I just bought this and it is beyond awesome. To the author, I say damn you Raven, a man has real, bill-paying, soul-sucking work to do and you offer him 519 pages of enlightenment for four bucks? Something's got to give.

The historical bits are the icing on the cake. To wit: "Then, after a few long years of fat, hog-jowled unemployed factory workers being pissed off, the Cleveland Browns were resurrected as an expansion team."

This is a Herculian effort, one I'll be coming back to throughout the NFL season. Props, strike that - mad props - to Raven Mack for this. I consider this ebook the football-loving degenerate's answer to the Football Outsiders Almanac.
