About David R Lewis

A cop, artist, musician, firearms instructor, fishing guide, public speaker, ranch hand, radio personality and novelist, David R. Lewis has seen life through many eyes and from many perspectives. From childhood on the banks of the Sangamon River to adulthood on a metropolitan police department, through hardscrabble years deep in the Ozark Mountains to working in broadcasting, David has gathered a wealth of life experience that is as evident in his words as it is on his face.
David lives with his wife, Laura, in the country outside Kansas City on seven miles of bad road, where he watches turkeys, dodges deer, argues with two Australian cattle dogs, and devotes his time to writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars ON THE NODAWAY TRAIL, September 7, 2013

I am a voracious consumer of audio stories. I have stalked the files of archive.org as well as otr.net (old time radio!) and I know the difference between quality, and content. You can do the research yourselves folks. I tell you, you won't find better story-telling, period, than these David R Lewis books. Not from anyone out there today. The name David R Lewis fits comfortably in the company of a Jean Shepard, and you don't say, (or take), a thing like that lightly. I have read two of Lewis' other novels, and heard some of his children's stories. He is a writer/voice actor who brings a fresh and sparkling talent to all who would hear, or read. If you ever haven't liked audio books in the past much, or were ever really disappointed by an audio book, do yourself this favor. You, after all, deserve a treat. To begin with, I would suggest you take the Deer Run Trail, then the Nodaway Trail. Relax for a while with a master story-teller. And along the trip you will meet some old friends! It has been a pleasure sharing my thoughts. Devour, and enjoy!
