Description

In the second edition of this well-received book, atypical fitness guru Michelle Pearl has a message for all those who have suffered with ongoing weight problems: “You are not weak, losing weight has nothing to do with willpower, and you really can be happier, healthier and imperfectly fit." Helped me loose 5 Pounds but some of the tips are not so practical. It was a nice reading overall.

What a wonderful read! I can't believe how Michelle relates so well to all of us who have travelled the weight loss highway. I have been up and down since I was about 5 years old and now realize I can be happy with the slow steady weight loss, knowing I will eventually reach my goal. It also made me realize how futile it is for us to believe a pill, or a fiber bar or any other gimmick will get us to where we want to be. Determination and perseverance, those are the keys! Thank you Michelle for this wonderful book and good luck in everything you do in the future!

Over 30 years of being fat and only after I read this book do I get to find out that I am not a weak-willed loser. To the author of this book I have just one thing to say- THANK YOU!

I'm a vegan, so while some of what the author talked about I could not relate to, I do appreciate that she also tells the stories about other people who have been successful at losing weight using different approaches. A lot of the reasoning about what she talks about is pretty powerful and makes a great deal of sense, though. I really enjoyed reading this.

omg. wow. this book should be sent to every idiot who ever sold a weight loss pill or wrote a diet book just because they had successfully lost 15 pounds after they had a baby. if weight problems have always been an issue for you or a loved one - read this book now.

I work at the DMV in a state that has had the dubious distinction of being in the top 10 of every "Fattest State" list for the last 5 years running. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in my office is really heavy. As of yesterday everyone in my office has also downloaded this book. We can all see ourselves in the words. It all makes sense. I can't imagine why no one has ever put 2 and 2 together before like this author has. It's amazing.

Finally a book that unequivocally explains why diet pills don't work, why no carb diets don't work, why cookie diets and spot reducing don't work. It is an optimistically honest reality check with innovative solutions for taking excess weight off once and for all. And I laughed out more than a few times, too. A must read...for almost everyone.

My sister sent me the link to this book - her daughter had sent it to her. Everyone in our family suffers with weight problems and we had thought that we were doomed to live fat forever. This book actually gives us all hope. Great book!

This is one of the most amazing weight loss books that I have ever read. I can tell that Michelle has really walked in my shoes and truly understands what's involved in the battle against fat. The research that she has done to discover how to beat this beast is truly eye-opening. I honestly believe that this is the last weight loss book that I will ever need to read.
