What does a girl do when her parents plan to marry her off to a stranger in Lebanon when she turns twelve? World War II comes to her rescue and keeps her safe in Nebraska from 1942 to 1946. But her stubborn father makes another marriage contract with a Lebanese man in Miami, Florida while she's a junior in high school. A disastrous car accident on the way to Florida almost kills the girl, but her serious injuries frighten the bridegroom away. The car accident forces the father to stop his controlling ways and frees the girl. She finishes high school, attends nursing school, travels and finds her own true love.Tags
