About Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

it's all about sylvie. it's all about creed. it's all about the two of them. i got pulled in. the use of flashback was all good. enjoyed reading. to best appreciate it, it needs to be read twice. if you're an avid reader like me, reading this twice is not only a cinch, it's a must. then read it again, just for the fun of it.

I loved this book. One word comes to mind.... HOT. Although it bugs me a bit that they knew each others as kids, and then they got torn apart, only to come back into each others lifes....Im not sure I'm into that type of thing...it always seems a bit odd.....

Not one of my favorite KA's, but I certainly wouldn't have foregone reading. I'm the kind of reader who will not tolerate a book if it doesn't "hook" me & keep me hooked. So, I finished it. I did like the tension with Creed winning Sylvie over.

I was disappointed. It was all too melodramatic and the emotions too feminine in the male characters that I kept thinking about the plot rather than getting lost in it.
I should know better than to read a book with the plot line " boy meets girl and then breaks up for 10 years before gets back with her".I absolutely hate ALL books like this and have not read other Kristen books with the same theme.Unfortunately I just didn't have the willpower not to buy this one as I LOVE Kristen Ashley.

I did not care for this book that much, which is sad to say because I love this author. I really did not like Sylvie at all, I felt like she was to "hard". To me it felt like there was something missing between Creed and Sylvie, not sure what it was, but did not really feel a "i can't live without you" connection. It is still a good book, and if you love Kristen its worth it to read. Just not one of my top 10!

This is the second book of the Unfinished Hero series. The first book brought us the hot badass Knight – Knight Sebring of whom the female of this book, Sylvie Bissenette works for, looking after his “girls” who are under his protection.

Tucker Creed is Sylvie’s long time ago true love who she met when she was six years old and he was eleven. He promised her he would always be there for her, to love and cherish her, continue to give her peridot pendants on her birthdays for eternity. Then on her eighteenth birthday he broke that promise and left without a trace.

The story begins again when Creed returns to her side, sixteen years later when he takes on a contract with Knight. What then follows is the couple trying to resolve the issues of the past and what was left behind.

Hmm…I have mixed feelings about this book which I am so saddened to say as Kristen Ashley is one of my most favourite authors. To me this book did not follow the outline of the series. Who was the unfinished hero as Creed did not meet the criteria. How was he an anti-hero? What badness did he do? I could have maybe understood if KA had called this book Sylvie as, yes she did fit into that role (at a pinch). I know that Kit had stated she did waver on calling the book this – I think she should have.

I could not bring myself to like Sylvie, she was OK but she got on my last nerve at times! She was too badass, too gung-ho, too MANLY for my liking. Yes I love that KA does not have wimpy assed women in her books, but Sylvie just went way over the top. Creed on the other hand was likeable, he was doable! *grins* but he wasn’t like Knight at all. He did show the signs in his younger years which we saw in flashbacks throughout the book but in the present he was an OK guy, no badass at all.

This story actually reminded me of a book in Kristen’s The ‘Burgh series - Golden Trail. It was very similar in how Layne and Rocky were once lovers but then broke apart and got back together after decades. He also had kids to an ex-wife (by the way I LOVED that book!)

Another thing that got me going “hmmm-hoo-hum” was the sex. Yes I am complaining about TOO MUCH SEX! It wasn't even meaningful and didn't really benefit the storyline. Yes of course there was a need for some erotic sex but some of the scenes were not erotic ....just..…there on the page.

So all in all not my usual KA experience, I can't say I hated it, in fact I did like it but I just did not love it. I feel so bad saying this but it left me feeling…so what? Oh dear.

Awww... What a great Love story! Yes, it is emotional, yes it has a bit of suspense, yes it has great romance (and yes, the love scenes are a bit spicier than the norm), but this is like an Epic Love Story! Creed and Sylvie knew each other and loved each other from childhood. They both had bad, messed up homes, but had each other. Even through the years and all that happened, they held on to that love and it was beautiful when it came back together. I did let a tear of two drop during the story, but when it was over I had Chill Bumps and my eyes were glassed over. Great book!

Creed and Sylvie's story really pulled at my heartstrings. Their backstory was sweet and sad at the same time, had me crying thru several scenes, laughing at others. The old saying of "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" was certainly true of these two! But like all of KA's books they have their HEA (gotta love her)! And it has one of her best epilogues EVER!!

I love all things Kristen Ashley and CREED is right up there with her best. I cried and read and cried and read...so yummy! So emotional and such hurt individuals but Sylvie and Creed were meant to be together and they find each other years and years. Knight plays a big role as Sylvie's friend. They share a piece of each others heart. Kristen Ashley can write WONDERFUL epilogues and they are the best of any writer's I have EVER seen....wish more would add them. Thank you KA for such a great read and I look forward to more!

OMG KA!!!!
I also LOVED this Book!!
I thought RC Regret with Sadie and Double H and Knight were good but Boy Oh Boy does this one give them a run for their money! these two are still me Favs though!
Sylive is tough but shes not, she has more front than Harrods, and I love her!
Creed, well, he is just Creed. No words for him, just tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat as I think about how much he loves Sylvie and his kids.
Seriously though, make sure you have time aside to read this book I made the mistake of starting it early evening and no joke I got no sleep that night and had to go to work the next day, Thank God it is my own business!!!

I loved this book. It was an emotional book packed with action and steam. I loved the story, the pace it was told, how KA mixed the past and the present and how everything unfolded.

I loved Sylvie. I loved her as a child and I loved her as a woman. She is a badass loving her badass job and she also is a loving woman with a golden heart bigger than the Texas area.

I loved Creed. As a child and as a man. I loved how he always was so tunned to Sylvie's mood and feelings.

I loved Creed and Sylvie together. As kids, they really were cute and as adults, a badass in love with a badass, they were hot.

I also loved all the secondary characters (kids included) particularly Knight...

Saying that I am a HUGE fan of Kristen Ashley does not even come close to the way I feel about her writing!! Every freaking book of hers has blown me away and left me wanting more!! Sure, there are Kristen Ashley stories that I like more than others, but that is based solely on the characters!! I am definitely addicted and I hope that I continue to be.
I think it is a true sign of how AWESOME a writer is when you can continue to reread their books and it is like reading them for the first time and this always happens for me with her books. Kristen Ashley has a way of writing her characters unlike anything I have ever read. Her strong, loving, arrogant, possessive, dirty~talking ALPHA males suck me(hehe!!)into the stories along with their usually kick~ass, sweet, loving, funny females on the way to their HEA. And I am so happy to say that Creed is no different.
OMG...Creed hit me with such an emotional punch that it had my heart aching through the journey between Sylvie and Creed's past and present. I LOVED Sylvie immediately and of course of I LOVED Knight but I was nervous about Creed. I should have known better, Kristen has a way of totally making you hate the hero and then has the ability to make you fall totally head-over-heels in love with him. And, for me, this continued with Creed. He definitely is one of my favorites heroes of hers. Just absolutely loved him!!! *sigh* The necklaces, the tat, his kid's names, and his dirty~talkin mouth. *sigh* Knight had some great moments and I just loved seeing him again!! And then there was Sylvie. Definitely my favorite heroine of hers. She was kick~ass but she was also sweet, caring, loving, and funny. Loved her!! Such tortured souls that I needed desperately to have their HEA together. Kristen just knocked me out with Sylvie and Creed and their story stayed with me long after I was finished.
I was on an emotional roller coaster with this book and I was worn out by the end!! But, oh, how I didn't want it to end!! I loved seeing Sylvie and Creed in the past, but I was biting my nails as Sylvie grew closer and closer to her 18th birthday!! BEST EPILOGUE EVER!!*sigh*
I can never get enough of Kristen Ashley's writing and I cannot wait for Raid's book next!! Thank you, Kristen, for another book that took me to a world that I didn't want to leave and can't wait to return to!! Creed absolutely has a place in my keeper pile, right next to Knight, to be reread. BEST OF THE BEST rating.
