Welcome to a world of terrifying darkness and excruciating light...a world of biting cold and devastating flame...a world of agonizing sanity and harrowing madness...of monstrous pain and cleansing, peaceful healing. Welcome to the world of The Loon.

In his newest novel, Michaelbrent Collings has created a landscape as intricate and complex as his characters, a monstrous asylum-prison where warders and inmates alike must confront and defeat nearly unimaginable challenges just to survive. His tale juxtaposes innocence and corruption on multiple levels, frequently within the same character. And like his characters, readers will find deadly surprises around every corner.

From an atmospheric opening chapter every bit as jarring and satisfying as anything by Dean R. Koontz; to a highly effective, graphic climax; to a final moment of oddly objective but equally satisfying serenity, THE LOON rivets attention. It is well worth reading...and re-reading. Highly recommended.

This was one scary/freaky/suspenseful book. The opening was great, totally hooked me. The rest of the novel was fast. In fact, if there was one complaint it would be that it didn't give me a chance to breath! Nice one!
