About Mark Stewart

Mark Stewart is an acclaimed author. He loves to write fiction right across the board from romance adventure to crime and onwards to science fiction. His fast paced novels keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the last.
Mark lives in Melbourne Australia and tries to keep to the Auzzie lingo and customs. His only gripe is he never has enough time to feed the writing enthusiasm inside him.

Mark lives in the picturesque region of the Mornington Peninsula, a full one hour drive from Melbourne.
He's been married to his wonderful patient wife for over thirty years. He has four adult children and two grand children. Everywhere he looks there's a story waiting to be told.

This is a beautifully-rendered piece of flash fiction which says so much in a very small word length. After an interesting introduction, it settles into a revealing exploration of a male-female relationship which is so well written that the reader is thoroughly absorbed by this interaction. Very well done.

There was an idea here that could have made an interesting story, but the story/plot/set-up fails in many places.

An okay read, but flawed in some respects. The whole set up, with Evelyn arriving at the party and so forth, is rather pointless since Evelyn's participation in the party is over in a few lines and the main aspect of the story only occurs as Evelyn is about to leave.
And sorry but WHY does Matt suddenly want to marry Evelyn when, out of his own choice, he's had no contact with her in two years? How can he keep 'up to date' on her life via a Facebook page she hasn't updated in 18 months?
All in all, not as rounded and well crafted a story as it could have been.

Nice quick little story - I bet most people would love to put an "ex" in their place at some stage! The story could have had more detail (e.g. why only women allowed, what happened for several hours etc...) but the real story is the dialogue.

What a great read. Great dialogue and it ended beautifully.
