About Gloria Harchar

I write Romances, both sweet Steampunk and sexy Regency. I grew up with a mother who taught in public schools and with a father who was the lead engineer on the Apollo 6 spacecraft. I used to imagine what it would be like to travel in space, (which reminds me that, hey! I need to write SciFi romances!). I believed there were fantasy creatures living between the walls of our house.

My educational background includes two Bachelor's of Science degrees--one in education and the other one in business. Too, I have a Master's degree in educational design and technology. Besides writing, I love traveling, going on cruises and bicycling. Exploring old cemeteries and castles, finding inventions that didn't take off. Reading old documents/records, such as letters, newspapers, marriage certificates, diaries, journals. Going to Steampunk and Renaissance festivals. Making gadgets of my own, (although this takes a lot of time and I spend most of my time writing now).

But my true joy is writing romance novels. I can travel literally anywhere in my imagination.

I haven't read a lot of Steampunk but if this is an example I love it, the characters are so well drawn and the setting so believable that it draws you in from the start and keeps you to the end, I love the pixies Allegro and Glissando and they add a depth to the story, while you are cheering them on so that Malcolm and Nicola end up together, you know theses things are going to happen but it is the journey that keeps us entertained, and this is a wonderfully written and put together journey. I will be reading more Steampunk and more of this author.
