I was born in South Africa some fifty plus years ago, and lived there most of my life. I spent many years working in the mining industry, and lately have taken to teaching English in South Korea.
I am a widow of almost twenty years standing, and have two children, both well over twenty one.
I love rock and roll, hip hop, dance, reading, singing and life.

If life is like a box of chocolates, then this book is ... not like a box of chocolates at all! It's way more cool than a box of chocolates. The only thing I can think to compare it to is the "Lucky Packet" goody bags of my childhood. You could purchase one for next to nothing, but of course you wouldn't know what was inside. That was the pleasure of it. Well, you knew you got 'something' and knew it was a good something (no nasty surprises, luckily) but you'd have to open it up before you knew what you got. Inside would be toys, candy, snacks, magic tricks, whatever ... you name it. Similarly this book really has all sorts of different things inside. The one word that I would use to describe this book is "surprising". Each story is in its own way surprising, some more so than others, but truly nothing is cliched about any of them. Even though a couple of alternate worlds emerge (that are clearly seeds of full - length novels or even series of novels growing) that take up more than one story (The Soulchip stories and Dragon stories) ... each story is a totally unique, stand-alone, tailormade, never-to-repeated kind of event. I say "event" on purpose, because the stories are so vivid that they seem to find their way directly into your memory as if you had experienced it first hand. Why buy this book? Well, all I can say is that you will have missed out on a really remarkable experience if you don't.
