Review by: Mark McKay on March 06, 2015 :
This is a very imaginatively told story about a Princess's struggle to free her people and re-unite her planet. Filled with imaginatively described locations, creatures, and magical powers.
The author makes good use of descriptive language, especially many of the metaphors: - 'I see falcon scouts retreating to the palace. They flit across the sky like grains of pepper.'
Reminded me of the 'Dune' books by Frank Herbert. Faye Knight creates a fantasy that draws the reader in to a world of characters with mystical powers and one with a magical heart.
A few editorial issues with this book, but very enjoyable and stimulating nonetheless.
