Broken Promises was a fantastic book to read. The plot was absolutely brilliant, I have not come across a book like it ever!
I really liked Bri’s character, how determined she is to save her boyfriend Quinn no matter what danger she puts herself in along the way.
I was also secretly hoping that she would forget about Quinn and get it on with Liam while saving the world.
I was hooked to the book from the very beginning, it was very well written and I cannot wait for book 2 to come out.

Belinda Boring, you wicked writer. This is a story filled will all the things that make people love romance novels. It's steamy, unpredictable and a unique storyline. I love how you presented a different perception of Fae. The passion between the characters Bri and Quinn is palpable and will leave more than one woman wishing she could find a love that intense.
I stayed up two nights in a row unable to stop reading just to find out what happens next. **Spoiler Alert** I had to know if Bri would be able to save the Quinn she once knew despite how horrible he becomes. I mean I really started to hate this guy. At least once I wished I was Liam when he tazered the guy. He really deserved to get his butt kicked. Then you left me hanging.
Ms. Boring tell me you are coming out the the second book soon. I need to know. The situation seems so hopeless. There has to be a way out and I need to know how the Guardians save the day...if they can.
BTW, amazing story. The characters are believable and complex. The storyline is compelling. The terror inflicted on the human race left me desperate to know the outcome. Bravo! Another great tale.
I was provided a copy of this book by Promotional Book Tours for review. All opinions are 100% my own and no other compensation was provided.

The world is under attack. No one saw this one coming until it was already happening. The method of attack is so overpowering that even those that figured out what was going on had little to no time to defend themselves against it. The human race stands the chance of being annihilated by their own hands without understanding their actions. How could this be happening? A handful of people can answer this question only because the secret that the Fae truly existed on another world has been kept a secret from Earth.
Bri never knew what she was until the Fae came to her world and took over her boyfriend's mind. She thought she was just a super clumsy human who got lucky enough to fall in love with an amazing man. Then her world came crashing down around her as her boyfriend and the other people around her suddenly grew very angry and violent. No one seemed to be able to control their torturous tendencies. Even Bri was struggling to maintain her normal composure. After nearly being killed, she learns who she really is and why she has a fighting chance to fight the charm affecting the humans. Will Bri be able to continue fighting the charm? Will her boyfriend ever be normal again and not try to kill her? Will the human race be able to withstand the magic of the Fae? Only time will tell.
I am very intrigued about where this story is going to go. You will not get all the answers in this one story, but Belinda Boring certainly knows how to leave you wanting more. You won't be disappointed with this cliffhanger.

Broken Promises is the first book in the new Brianna Lane series by Belinda Boring. It's an urban fantasy story about evil Fae invading Earth. They glamour the population to make them violent, and people start turning against each other. When Quinn, the man Bri loves, turns violent – her world shatters. Everything she has ever known has changed, and she will stop at nothing to reverse the hold the Fae have over Quinn and the rest of the population.
The night starts out with Bri and Quinn going out on a date. When chaos ensues, Bri knows she must find refuge. The city breaks out into total chaos, but she knows she can't go home – Quinn will find her there and try to hurt her again. Luckily, Bri teams up with others who are unaffected by the glamour. She also finds out some very shocking revelations about her heritage.
Bri and Quinn have some major chemistry going on. Even when he changes and wants to hurt Bri, the other part of him wants to seduce her. Every time they come into contact, sparks fly – but Bri knows she must stay away from him for her own safety. I enjoyed the happy memories that came to Bri's mind, and liked seeing the “real” Quinn. My heart broke for Bri – her life turns upside down.
There is a lot of action and suspense in this book. The characters are great and it is well written. I think that anyone who enjoys urban fantasy will enjoy this. The ending will make you want to hunt the author down and force her to finish book #2 ASAP :)
Favorite line: "Never mess with a woman whose obsession is romance novels." ~Bri
