Don't let the title deceive you into believing this to be a children's story. This would be an error in judgement which will lead you down the unfortunate path to never having read this delightful book. A story for cat lovers and crime fiction lovers alike, the remarkably original Code Name Millicent: The Cat Intelligence Agent Who Came Out Of The Cold will amuse as it entertains with a fantastical insight into the lives and minds of our furry feline friends. Bryon's Williams' character driven, cinematic and comedic writing style will draw you in and keep you entertained until the very last page.
Join our protagonist, Millicent, a rather clever and athletic Oriental Shorthair during a top secret assignment taking her across sub-tropical Northern New South Wales to the infamous hippy haven Nimbin in search of a notorious yet elusive local drug baron. Millicent finds herself dodging nasty rottweilers, shady humans and poisonous cane toads as she teams up with some unlikely associates including the slightly damaged and cantankerous old puss, Bertha as well as her "human servants" Pat and Jenny. The story sees our adventure seeking motley crew in a delightfully original take on the classic action crime genre with a humorous twist. We wrap things up with a death defying shoot out in a blaze of fire and even a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. All in a day’s work for Millicent, the self-confessed beauty, the ever-ready, martial arts trained and highly esteemed Field Agent of the CIA.
