As she turned toward the truck, she felt someone gripping her arm. She quickly looked around and her eyes widened. She felt Clint moving her with very little effort. She realized her worst fears in the next few seconds.
Only inches separated Samantha from Clint. He held her tightly against his muscular body. Angry sparks shot from his narrowed eyes as he gazed down at her. She knew it couldn't be possible to feel the invisible currents of his hard stare cutting through her like a knife, but it felt like it to her.
The intense moment had her imagination running wild. She felt paralyzed with fear, but the fear didn’t last long as she became angry over the way he held her captive.

His mouth reached hers sending her head reeling. Samantha felt her legs becoming weak as his possession continued. She had to raise her hands toward his chest for support. For the next few seconds, she wasn’t aware of any sounds, or activity going on around her.
The plundering kiss seemed to go on forever. She could feel his tongue wedging a place inside her lips and claiming the interior of her mouth. Instead of refusing his intimate capture, she found she enjoyed it.
When he finally lifted his mouth away from hers, she could only stare up at him in confusion. Shaking her head to clear it, she dropped her lashes hoping that he didn’t see the feelings that were erupting through her body. He had managed to light a fire in her that Samantha had never experienced before with any man. The feeling felt so heady that it almost frightened her.
The seconds dragged out between them as he watched her with narrowed eyes. Eventually, he spoke, "This is the reason I wanted someone else for the job.” To Samantha, it was as if the kiss never happened between them. Instead of pushing away from her as he spoke, he kept his chest pressed tightly against hers. She could feel the wild stirring making a comeback in her body.
Samantha decided she had to bring some normalcy to the situation. "I didn't see any damage to the truck.” She said the first thing to pop into her head.
"You're lucky there isn’t," he told her, his warm breath caressing the tendrils of her hair along her cheek.
