About Michael Wilbur

What can I say about myself? I'm a science fiction/fantasy author out to show that good sci-fantasy (or phantasy, as some call it) doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. I get seriously bummed when good heroes get killed for cheap drama, and love a good ol' happily ever after. As such, I jokingly call my chosen genre 'Bright Fiction'.

When not writing, I'm usually hanging out with another member of the real Elsewhere Incorporate; a loose collection of dreamers who enjoy games, movies, and music. I'm a big epic metal and punk rock fan, though I do enjoy most music genres. I enjoy games that are fun (such as Saints Row 2 and Burnout Paradise), but also like a good story (Mass Effect 2 ... and before you ask, Tali.) As for movies, well ... I've been watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 lately to get in touch with my inner nerd.

I enjoy chaos and coincidence, I love twists and time travel. More than anything, however, I want those who read my books to enjoy themselves. I hope this universe I've created becomes a sanctuary from the real world for anyone, even if just for a short while.

I tried to write all this in the third person, but it sounded incredibly pretentious. I mean, I know I wrote this, you know I wrote this ... who would I be trying to fool?
