About Jenna Bennett

Jenna Bennett AKA Jennie Bentley is the New York Times bestselling author of the Do It Yourself home renovation mysteries from Berkley Prime Crime, as well as of the Savannah Martin Southern Real Estate mysteries. A former Realtor® and home renovator, she lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with a husband and two boys, a hyperactive dog, a killer parakeet, two goldfish and two African Dwarf frogs. A native of Norway, she's spent the past twenty years in the US, and still hasn't been able to kick her native accent. You will not, however, notice it when you're reading her books.

I was privileged to read an early draft of the opening for this story quite some time ago. I really liked it then, and I'm glad to be able to read the rest of it.

Having read the author's CUTTHROAT BUSINESS novels, I was pretty sure I would like this one. It started a little slower than the CUTTHROAT BUSINESS books, but it picked up quickly enough. I would have been annoyed at Annika's constant downplaying of her looks - except that I KNOW women like that. And Nick, well, I'm a sucker for chocolate brown eyes and a set of good shoulders.

The pace of the story picked up pretty quickly and I finished the second half of it in a few hours on a sick day. I figured out some things and suspected others, but there was definitely a "D'oh! Why didn't I see that coming?" moment that is particularly enjoyable when reading anything with a suspense/mystery flavor.

If you like some romance and you like mystery/suspense, you'll probably like this one. I hope there are more books with Annika and Nick in the future.

Annika’s mission to bring her father’s remains back to his homeland goes terribly wrong when her carryon luggage with his remains is stolen. She soon learns of her father’s past transgression and his sins begin to haunt Annika’s stay in Sweden and Annika will have to trust a stranger to come out of this alive.

This was a good read that had me quickly turning the pages. The frenzy paced story took me on a ride filled with intrigue and romance that I did not want to get off. I loved the way the story flowed from one scene to the next, keeping me in suspense as to what will happen next. With a great narrative, this was very enjoyable romantic suspense drama.
