3.5 stars. This collection of short - mostly erotic - stories fills some blanks in the "Nightrunner" books. But it's not as good. I don't know, I found some of the stories lacking a bit.
"Misfit" tells the story of Seregil's first sexual relationship in RhĂminee and how Seregil became Nysander's pupil. I felt so, so sorry for Seregil in this one. Great story but rather painful to read in places, especially when you know how his apprenticeship ends. 4 stars.
"The Wild" tells the reader about how Alec's parents met. I found it a bit boring. I would like to know why Alec's mother's people wanted to kill him, that's true, but the love story of Amasa and Ireya never interested me much. 2 stars.
"By the River" tells us how Seregil and Micum met. Cute little story. 3 stars.
"The Bond" depicts Alec and Seregil's first night together. Unfortunately, a good half of the story is a word-for-word copy of what happened in "Stalking Darkness". 3 stars.
"The Summer Players" is an excerpt from the upcoming "Nightrunner" book that should come out in 2011. I definitely wanted to read more! 5 stars.
All in all, I expected more but liked it nonetheless. Though I don't think the anthology would have much to say to somebody who hadn't read the "Nightrunner" books first.

Let me start by saying how much I love Lynn Flewelling's books: a frickin' lot! But this? This was just not so good. It seems like she essentially decided to write her own fanfiction. Most of the stories are just an excuse to have the sex scenes that she left out of her books. And the sex scenes are rather mechanical and awkward.
I admit, I hoped for better from something I paid for.
Still a huge fan, and still looking eagerly forward to the next novel! I just wish this had been different.

It was a darling little book and a wonderful visit back into the Nightrunner world. Having read White Road earlier on this year I was saddened to think we'd have to wait a couple years for the next installment but this was a brilliant in-betweener! The tasteful sex scenes didn't hurt either!

Woderful little book! I loved all of the little stories, revisiting "old friends" from Mrs Flewelling's Nightrunner books and shedding some light (but not revealing everything) about their pasts. The erotic scenes ver very tasteful written.

Bought the book yesterday, and it is a real Page-Turner (can one call an E-book Page-Turner?). A Must-Have for every Fan of the Nightrunner Series. I loved it, to get to know, more of the past, of beloved Characters and have only one complaint: The Book is too Short. ;) More about Alec and Seregil. Please. Next year, is too far away, esp. after one read the excerpt of the next Nightrunner book, which closes "Glimpses".
