In the Twilight of the Moon follows the coming of age of 3 brothers who grew up vying for the love of their emotionally distant father. The acting out of their emotional needs ranges from Marco's pursuit of a violent lifestyle to Nicky's need for emotionally distant women and to Gianfranco's suicidal depression that ensures he cannot fulfill his enormous potential. Their Uncle Frankie attempts to fill the void that threatens to destroy the boys' lives but, at best, he is a surrogate. The three brothers clash through their young manhood until fate intervenes and the boys awaken to the realization that they may have wasted a lifetime seeking the very thing that had been within their grasp all along. The boys ultimately undergo an emotional tug-of-war that forces their familial bond to the forefront, setting off a series of events that bring about the long-awaited redemption.
