About Jelera Ames

Hmm, what to say, what to say? I'm a mother of three boys, which takes a lot of time and a lot of energy, especially as two of them are teenagers and the younger isn't even into the double digits yet. Although their father and I are not married we've managed to put nineteen years behind us and have walked the hills and mountains of life together with all the laughter, the crying fits and yelling a relationship needs and demands. I've so far only published the one book (which is need of some heavy editing) but I am currently working on two separate series. I'm hoping to have one finished before the end of the year. It's hard finding the time to write, especially during the school months when our lives seem to go out of control thanks to sports and other school functions. There's just never enough time in the day.

Anyhow, what else can I tell you about myself? I'm the oldest of six, though my parents split so three of the six are what others term 'half' siblings. There's half of each gender but I was ultimately raised with the bros so it was an easy transition for me when I had boy. I'm close to my brothers (sadly I don't know my sisters that well) and love them as much as I love week old moldy bread. I'm kidding. They're my brothers, I'm supposed to say things like that.

Two years ago I became an Aunt for the first time, which was exciting since I hadn't thought my bros would ever give me any nieces or nephews. That time around I got a nephew but in a few short months I'll get that niece I can spoil...you know, doing and buying actual girl things. It's the only thing I've missed out on having boys. Basically I'm surrounded by testosterone. Brothers, SO, sons, nephews...it just never ends. Finally, a niece, I'm beyond excited.

Anyhow, other than spending my days working and caring for home and hearth, I like to write. I also love to read. Both take me away from reality for a bit and it's nice to get away. I have a lot of little things I like to do actually. I like to paint, to play games, to wake long walks, to bake, to draw, to create, to...well, you get the idea. If something catches my interest, I have to try it. Makes for a busy life but hey, we're only here for a limited time so why not.

Okay, I guess that's about it. Any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Awesome book. I enjoyed the story but only two things kept me from giving a five star review.

First was the typos. In some places the names of the characters changed. One such spot was the kitchen scene towards the end of the book when Wren's name was written as Gemma, who was in a different room at the time. Also, spots where homophones occurred (spear [a weapon] used instead of spare [verb meaning to hold back or save from experiencing]).
Second was the backstory among the characters. I felt like I was missing quite a bit of the established history, especially between the main characters & the supporting cast. What part did Gemma play before she met Mason? How much longer did the war last once Mason made his decision? How long have the other couples known each other? I'm not looking for a lot of detail, but while there were a few flashbacks I felt there could have been just a tad bit more fleshing out of the history they shared.

This story grabbed me from the start & I really didn't want to be let go. I would love to see more of this world! Thank you so much for sharing!
