The Scarecrow

This short story is a cute little, semi-scary, Ray Bradbury-esque wonder tale; full of novelty and bleak imagery, and a swift sharp slap of weirdness viewed through the wondrous eyes of a young child. It's probably a tale for both adults and children to each take what they will from. Or to run from.
