About the author: Early life as a military brat gave Carolyn Kephart an appreciation of nomadic lifestyles, a fascination with world cultures, and close-up insights into the warrior mentality and its manifestations, all of which influence her work. She loves things that nourish the spirit and widen the mind.
Kephart's epic fantasy duology WYSARD and LORD BROTHER has received critical acclaim for its literary merit and timeless themes. THE RYEL SAGA: A TALE OF LOVE AND MAGIC combines both volumes in a single book.

This was an interesting little short story about a court jester, books, and a little payback.
This was my first read by this author and it was great to get a feel for their work. Short stories are tough because there are sometimes too much or too little information given in the story, but this one was very well done. I felt like I had just enough info to get the point of the story.
Amusing story, indeed!
A very quick read (less than 30 minutes) and great for someone that wants a small taste of this author.
