Just like Kit Prate to give us a great story and a well learned lesson in the process. Kill Crazy is about a boy who wants to be a man. His father is the town sherriff and after loosing his wife he alienates the boy to the point his son begins to hate his father. An old friend shows up to give sound advice to both Chris and his father Ethan. What happens after Ethan returns with his prisoner will make you think about your own relationship with those who are important to you. Thanks to Ms. Prate for an outstanding read and the joy her style of writing brings. If you haven't read this book you are missing out so I urge you to purchase a copy and sit down to a few moments of pure joy.

Kill-Crazy is a well written piece about a tenious relationship between a Sheriff father Eathon Pardee and his fifteen year old son chris. It seems happiness ended for the father with the death of his wife in childbirth five years previously; the rift between father and son beginning with her death.

I loved this little book and would encourage others to read it. It is gritty in places and has all the elements you expect from a western with strong characters like Eathon Pardee and Kilmont appearing. Well worth a read.

I am already a big fan of this lady's fanfiction and so knew that I would enjoy this story, and I did.
It was the age old quandry of a young boy getting to that time in his life when nothing his father says or does, is what the boy wants to do. They are constantly at loggerheads and there is the added fear that, just to spite his father, the boy will take up with a thoroughly bad crowd.
But, just at the nick of time, Chris is forced to wake up to what he could be throwing away.
A great read

Kit Prate seems to have the recipe for writing great westerns. Kill Crazy is the raw tale of a boy's emotionally charged relationship with his lawman father. A riveting look into human nature and the age old conundrum of the father son conflict. Anger at his father, Ethan, drives the main character, Chris Pardee's actions. He thinks he's ready for independence, ready to walk proud and stand tall. When his father must leave on a manhunt for ruthless killer Billy Killmont, Chris chooses the worse possible friend, Seth Corson, a bully and want-to-be outlaw, to start that journey. The appearance of a feeble stranger and a glimpse of Seth's true evil nature helps this boy and his father find their way home to each other.
