This story is short and sweet, a study in brilliance for its combination of setting and character. It is more than worth its price. Get it, read it, and if you like classic Golden Age SF you will enjoy it.

Something of a Japanese portrait of a story. A thing composed of few lines, all of them elegantly placed and perfectly capturing the essence of the piece. Short[ish] but perfect. Will leave you wanting more of her stories.

Not too bad, a nice short story that works out pretty good.

Short and straightforward, an entertaining SF story that has roots in classic SF (I've been reading old Andre Norton SF on Project Gutenberg, so that's what springs to mind), done with bioengineered nonhuman races. We are the aliens, and -- as this story shows -- we are still what makes us human.
I look forward to more short stories (and possibly novellas?) in this setting.
