Short description

The artist/fool with one foot suspended above the abyss, never looking to the future as six months morph into twenty years; Cortona, Camelot-like rising above the lake, casting her spell but lurking in the wings is a parallel universe threatening a rude awakening-welcome to the life of the artist.

Extended description

The town band strikes up to welcome the American students of the University of Georgia on their annual summer arts program and testosterone charged youths from all over the district flock into Cortona. I am blissfully ensconced in the studio I have set up in the mediaeval tower I’m renting at the top of town, while the elegantly dressed Cortonesi are discussing Michelangelo and the merits of the Golden Mean, strolling arm in arm, up and down the Corso.

This book brings to light the spiritual, artistic, and life journey of an artist who spent over two decades in Tusacny developing.
Taking part, the reader gets lost in the adventure of each art show, night at the bar, and mishap with the Carabinieri.
Day by day, page by page, you feel yourself perched high above the Italian countryside at Pogio Spinoso, high above the lake.
For those readers who can sit for hours, this page-turner will keep you occupied on a rainy aftenoon.
For me, I enjoyed my hourly sessions a few times a week as I laughed, cried, and cheered my way through this great book.
