This book is series of articles I wrote for the Daily Yomiuri newspaper in Japan on how to communicate effectively in intercultural situations.
Having observed people for years as a business skills trainer, it occurred to me that not only was using English as a communication tool in international settings a challenge, but effectively bridging the gaps formed by cultural differences made the task all the more difficult. This was my inspiration for writing this book.
I hope it serves as an aid to those who sometimes find themselves in intercultural encounters that require specific communication skills. I think it is the perfect book for anyone needing to learn “the basics” for proper and successful business communication.
