About Ryan Tauriainen

Ryan Tauriainen grew up in the country-side of Southern Oregon. He attended Middlebury College where he majored in classics and minored in music. Ryan’s post-college career took him to Hawaii through Teach For America where he taught 7th graders how to read and write to their fullest. His teaching credentials took him to Washington, DC where he would eventually become a principal.

Ryan writes specifically for young adults in a way he knows first-hand, draws them in and instills a love for reading. A teacher at heart, his books are purposely written to be easily used in the classroom with a curricular connection to history. Ryan continues to be an educational leader in Washington, DC where he lives with his partner, Ethan, and his collie named Cody.
