About Melody Daggerhart

Melody Daggerhart is a writer, editor, data consultant, and artist currently living in Washington state. She has been writing and illustrating novels ever since she was old enough to hold crayons and talk to stuffed animals. After pursuing an education in English literature and working in a library and as a freelance consultant, she figures she is ready to share her fanciful tales with more than her statuary, guinea pigs, cats, best friends, and her own captive children.

Her favorite genre to read and write is dark fantasy, but sprinklings of comedy, horror, adventure, steampunk, romance, and contemporary elements seem to have fallen into her Elf Gate Series, as well. (Hair color is subject to change with writing projects and moods.)

Favorite author influences include Anne Rice, R.A. Salvatore, H.P. Lovecraft, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Dr. Seuss among countless others.

Review by: Hedgie Press on March 26, 2013 :
Add one dark elf, one sarcastic bard, and a confused human; blend into a world of ominous political intrigue with a dash of adventure and a pinch of humor; and serve alongside a healthy dose of danger.

The Changeling is an excellent start to what promises to be a complex and intriguing dark fantasy series. I highly recommend it and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.

I just finished the book and I can`t wait for book2. I already count this series and the characters in it among my group of favorites. If you like Dark Fantasy this is a must read. The pace of the book is really nice it never feels like you are stuck in one spot for too long just waiting for something to happen. Thanks to Melody for creating such an awesome world!
